The Berlin Blockade was held on June 24,1948 - May 12,1949. This was the first major crisis in the Cold War, and the first one that included people dying. The Soviet Union blocked all of the road ways on the Western side of Berlin. The western Allies (USA, France, and UK) organized the Berlin Airlift which brought supplies to the people in Berlin.
